Haydeh Afshar was a prominent women's rights activist in Iran during the late Qajar and early Pahlavi eras. Born to influential parents, she was a key member of the ‘Naswan Vatan-Khah’ Society, established in 1922, which focused on advancing women's education and health. The society engaged in various activities, including publishing a magazine and organizing public lectures and theatrical performances. Notably, she famously rejected marriage proposals from several suitors, including Ahmad Shah Qajar, before eventually marrying Ahmad Maqbul and spending much of her life in Paris.
