Haytham el-Wardany

Haytham el-Wardany is an Egyptian writer and translator born in Cairo in 1972. His literary work spans fiction and non-fiction, focusing on essays and fragmented prose. He explores themes of sound and listening in contemporary society, particularly in his book 'Cómo desaparecer. Manual para oyentes urbanos' (2024), which investigates the concept of the 'social ear' as a historical and political organ. He currently teaches writing at Bard College in New York and resides in Berlin, where he writes in Arabic, German, and English.
