Heather MacKay

Heather MacKay is a resident of West Kelowna, British Columbia, who lost her home in the McDougall Creek wildfire in August 2023. Although her family was able to evacuate safely, the fire claimed their belongings and disrupted their lives, forcing them to move through multiple temporary homes. Heather has found strength in her community's support and has learned to appreciate the relationships that matter most in the wake of such a loss.
