Heda Stern
Heda Stern was a Jewish woman who lived in Zagreb and was notable for her survival during the tumultuous times of World War II. She and her husband, Žiga Stern, purchased a villa in the city in 1931, but their lives would be dramatically affected by the rise of the Ustaša regime in Croatia, which led to tragic events, including Žiga's suicide in 1941.
