Helena Rio Maior

Helena Rio Maior is a biologist and associate researcher at the Center for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes (CE3C) at the University of Lisbon. With two decades of experience studying the Iberian wolf populations in the Peneda-Gerês region, she has raised concerns about the potential impacts of the Arcos de Valdevez wind farm project on local wolf packs. Rio Maior argues that the project could compromise the viability and reproductive continuity of these packs, making it a serious threat to the conservation of this endangered species.
