Hendrik Schalk Burger was a Dutch coloniser who, in 1810, claimed land in Goedverwacht, South Africa. His will controversially bequeathed the land to the Khoi who worked it, which later became a point of contention in the ongoing legal battles concerning indigenous land rights.
