Henri Edwuard Gruner

Henri Edwuard Gruner was a Swiss engineer renowned for his work in the early 20th century, particularly known for designing the Montejaque dam in Spain. This ambitious project aimed to harness the power of the Gaduares River to provide electricity to remote villages in the Serranía de Ronda region. Despite the dam's impressive architectural features, including an 83-meter high vault that was the largest in Europe at the time, it ultimately failed to fulfill its intended purpose due to geological miscalculations about the area's limestone substrate.
