Henri Gloden

Abbé Henri Gloden, born in 1939 in Bad Mondorf, Luxembourg, was a devoted priest and humanitarian who dedicated over five decades of his life to serving the people of El Salvador. Known as 'Padre Enrique,' he was instrumental in establishing a children's home for street kids in Santa Ana from 1992 to 1998. Gloden's journey into the priesthood began later in life after initially pursuing studies in political science and social sciences in Louvain, Belgium. He intended to become a politician but experienced a significant personal crisis that led him to embrace a religious vocation. Gloden passed away on his 86th birthday on July 11, 2023, in El Salvador, where he had lived for 56 years, leaving behind a legacy of social engagement and compassion.
