Henrik Barruk

Henrik Barruk is a prominent advocate for the preservation and revitalization of the Ume Sami language, serving as a key figure in the cultural movement to support indigenous languages in Sweden. He has contributed to academia by teaching courses at Umeå University and creating a dictionary of Ume Sami words, making significant strides in ensuring the survival of this endangered language. As the father of singer Katarina Barruk, he has also inspired a new generation to embrace their cultural heritage through music and language.
