Henrique Barros

Henrique Barros is a prominent Portuguese epidemiologist known for his significant contributions to public health research, particularly in the context of long-term studies. He is the coordinator of the Geração 21 cohort, one of Europe’s largest longitudinal studies, which tracks the health and socio-economic conditions of children born in Porto between 2005 and 2006. His work has focused on understanding various health outcomes in relation to socio-environmental factors, and he has played a crucial role in studying eco-anxiety among adolescents in Portugal. Recently, his research highlighted concerning trends in eco-anxiety, particularly among young people, adding valuable insights to the ongoing discourse on mental health and climate change.
