
Henry Kelly
Henry Kelly was an influential Irish BBC Radio and TV broadcaster and a former journalist for The Irish Times, best known for his role as host of the popular quiz show 'Going for Gold' and the entertainment program 'Game for a Laugh' during the 1980s. He began his journalism career in the 1960s, covering the Northern Ireland Troubles for The Irish Times, a period he regarded as the highlight of his career. Born in 1946 in Athlone, Kelly balanced his successful media career with a deep commitment to journalism, remaining passionate about current affairs until his passing in 2024.
