Herbert Bolliger

Herbert Bolliger was a prominent Swiss businessman who served as the CEO of Migros, one of the largest retail companies in Switzerland, from 2005 to 2017. Under his leadership, Migros expanded significantly, including the successful acquisition of the Denner discount chain. Bolliger was known for his focus on health and sustainability, advocating against alcohol sales in supermarkets while also overseeing the company's diversification into various sectors. He passed away in early 2024 at the age of 71 after a prolonged illness, shortly after Migros announced the sale of several traditional subsidiaries.
