Hesus Arteaga

Hesus Arteaga is a marine biologist known for his significant contributions to the study of marine mollusks. Recently, he gained recognition for naming a newly discovered species of sea mollusk after the goalkeeper of the Cape Verde national football team, in gratitude for the ecological award he received from the country in 2023. Arteaga has a history of honoring athletes through his scientific work, having previously named a species after Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas. His research often focuses on the biodiversity of marine life in Caribbean waters.
