Hilmar Guðlaugsson

Hilmar Guðlaugsson (1930-2024) was a notable Icelandic bricklayer and former city councilor in Reykjavík, recognized for his extensive involvement in labor and community affairs. He served as the chairman of the Bricklayers' Association of Reykjavík and was the first chairman of the newly established Icelandic Bricklayers' Union. In addition to his labor activism, he held a position in the Reykjavík City Council for many years, significantly influencing local construction policies. Hilmar was also an avid supporter of sports, serving as chairman of the football club Fram and earning numerous awards for his contributions to the community.
