Hilo, nicknamed 'The Professor', is a black Labrador and a key member of Alberta's conservation canines, trained to detect invasive mussels at inspection stations throughout the province. Having switched from a guide dog role in California, Hilo has been instrumental in the program since its inception, showcasing remarkable skills in locating hidden mussels to help protect Alberta's aquatic environments.
