Honorio III was a Pope of the Roman Catholic Church who reigned from 1216 to 1227. He is best known for his support of the Franciscan Order, founded by Saint Francis of Assisi. During his papacy, he granted the Order a special privilege known as the 'Indulgence of the Porciúncula,' which allowed the faithful who visited the chapel of Santa Maria degli Angeli to receive plenary indulgence under certain conditions.
