Houthi militia

The Houthi militia, also known as Ansar Allah, is a Yemeni political and armed movement that emerged from the Zaidi Shia community in northern Yemen. Since the Yemeni Civil War began in 2014, the Houthis have taken control of significant portions of Yemen, including the capital, Sana'a, and have been involved in a protracted conflict against the internationally recognized government of Yemen. The group is often characterized by its alignment with Iran and has been known for its military operations against vessels in the Red Sea, claiming these actions are in solidarity with the Palestinian cause amid ongoing regional tensions.
