
Hristo Makariyev
Hristo Makariyev (1841-1893) was a prominent Macedonian icon painter and a member of the Makariyev brothers, known for their significant contributions to the artistic heritage of the region. He learned the art of iconography from the notable painter Dicho Zograf and led his brothers in creating numerous iconic works across Macedonia and neighboring countries, including notable frescoes in the church of St. George in Struga, completed in 1874.
