Huang Jianqing
Huang Jianqing is a retired senior ship inspector who joined the Marine Department in 1981 and was promoted in 2000. He was involved in the inspection of the Lamma IV ferry, which was built between 1995 and 1996, and faced scrutiny for his role in the investigation of a tragic maritime accident. In 2016, he was convicted for giving false testimony during the investigation, falsely claiming that there were children's life jackets on board the vessel when there were none, and was sentenced to 15 months in prison.
