Huber Matos

Huber Matos was a prominent Cuban revolutionary leader who played a significant role in the 1959 Cuban Revolution. Initially a close ally of Fidel Castro, Matos fell out of favor due to ideological differences and was accused of sedition shortly after the revolution's success. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison, becoming a symbol of the internal conflicts within the revolutionary leadership. Following his release, he became an outspoken critic of the Castro regime and went into exile in the United States, where he continued to advocate for democratic reforms in Cuba.
