Hunter Simoncic

Hunter Simoncic was a 26-year-old police officer with the Kansas City Police Department, having graduated from the department's academy in 2023. He previously worked as a shift supervisor at the Southeast Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Center and held degrees in sociology and forensic science. Known for his dedication to community service, he volunteered at Benjamin Banneker Elementary School, where he read to children weekly. Tragically, Simoncic was killed in the line of duty while deploying stop sticks in an attempt to halt a fleeing suspect.
