Ian Green

Ian Green is an Australian Buddhist practitioner and spiritual leader known for his significant contributions to promoting Buddhism in Australia. After experiencing a profound personal transformation during a visit to India, he dedicated his life to meditation and Buddhist service. In 2003, he began the construction of the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion in Bendigo, Victoria, which has become a major tourist destination and a symbol of interfaith dialogue. Recognized for his efforts, he was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for his work in fostering cultural understanding. Ian is also focused on introducing Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, to the Australian community through cultural festivals and events.
