Ian Mence
Ian Mence was a rebellious figure known for his mischievous exploits during his youth at Wesley College in Melbourne. Born in 1937, he became a legend among his peers for being expelled not once, but twice, due to his antics, including a notorious incident involving the ordering of 50 buses to block the school's entrance. Alongside his friends Denis Oakley and Robert Ward, Ian orchestrated the theft of the school's bell, leading to a decades-long secret about its burial location. His recent passing at the age of 88 revealed this long-held secret, culminating a life defined by rebellion, friendship, and storytelling.
