Ibrahim Nobre
Ibrahim Nobre (1888–1970) was a prominent Brazilian jurist, orator, and an important figure in the Revolution Constitucionalista of 1932 in São Paulo. Known as the 'tribuno da revolução' for his eloquent speeches demanding democracy and a new constitution, he actively participated in the movement and even enlisted as a soldier. His impactful poem 'Minha Terra, Minha Pobre Terra' criticized the government of Getúlio Vargas, leading to his imprisonment. A bronze statue commemorating his legacy was recently removed from its pedestal at Parque do Ibirapuera for restoration after being toppled by strong winds.
