Ibrohim G‘afurov was a distinguished Uzbek scholar, translator, and literary critic, renowned for his translations of significant works such as Dostoevsky's 'Crime and Punishment' and 'The Idiot', as well as Hemingway’s writings. He was celebrated as a national hero of Uzbekistan, contributing immensely to Uzbek literature and culture until his passing at the age of 89 on June 6, 2023.
