Ignazio Cefalia
Ignazio Cefalia, born in 1975 on the island of Sicily, is an Italian-Albanian Catholic bishop who belongs to the Byzantine rite. He began his ecclesiastical career in the nunciature in Ecuador from 2006 to 2010, followed by a position as secretary of the nunciature for Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand from 2010 to 2013. Additionally, he served as the chargé d'affaires and deputy permanent observer of the Holy See at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. Most recently, from 2020 to 2024, he was stationed in Venezuela before being appointed as the new apostolic nuncio to Belarus.
