Ihor Pomerantsev

Ihor Pomerantsev is a Ukrainian poet, prose writer, and radio host known for his significant contributions to freedom of speech through media, particularly during the Soviet era. Born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, he was initially detained by the KGB in 1976 for distributing prohibited literature. After emigrating to Germany and later to the UK, Pomerantsev became a prominent voice on BBC and Radio Free Europe, where he has continued to broadcast from Prague, discussing topics ranging from Ukrainian refugees to literature and cultural identity.
