IK Acheampong
General Ignatius Kutu Acheampong was a Ghanaian military officer who led a coup d'état on January 13, 1972, overthrowing the democratically elected government of Prime Minister Kofi Abrefa Busia. His leadership was marked by significant infrastructural development, including the Kpong Dam and Operation Feed Yourself, aimed at enhancing food security in Ghana. However, he was later executed following another coup in 1979.
