Ilias Petropoulos

Ilias Petropoulos (1928-2003) was a Greek ethnologist known for his extensive research on the margins of society, particularly regarding rebetiko culture. His contributions shed light on the lives and struggles of individuals in the underbelly of Greek society, and he was an active member of the leftist movements in Greece. His writings often reflected a deep empathy for marginalized communities, earning him the title of 'Ethnologist of the Margins.'
