Iljir Meta

Iljir Meta is a former President of Albania, having served from 2017 to 2022. He is the founder of the leftist Freedom Party and has held various high-ranking positions in post-communist Albania, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and Prime Minister. Recently, he has been in the news after being officially charged with corruption, money laundering, tax evasion, and concealing assets from authorities, as part of a broader investigation into high-level political corruption in the country.
