Indu Mitha, born Indu Chatterjee in 1929 in Lahore, was a pioneering Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher who crossed the India-Pakistan border in 1951 to marry Aboobaker Osman Mitha, a Pakistani army officer. Despite the cultural and political challenges following Partition, she played a vital role in introducing and adapting Indian classical dance in Pakistan, leaving a lasting legacy through her students and contributions to the cultural landscape of her adopted homeland.
