Ioana Avădanei

Ioana Avădanei is the president of the Center for Independent Journalism in Bucharest, bringing over 30 years of experience in the media sector as a journalist and media expert. She holds a master's degree and a PhD in Anthropology from the National School of Political Studies and Public Administration in Bucharest. In recognition of her significant contributions to journalism and civil society, she was awarded the European Citizen of the Year Prize by the European Parliament in 2013.
