Ioana Zelko

Ioana Zelko is a Romanian astrophysicist with studies at Harvard and MIT, specializing in dark matter and the application of artificial intelligence to understand the universe. Her journey began in a family of engineers in Romania, where her curiosity led her to excel in mathematics and physics, culminating in her participation in international science competitions. With a dedication to research and education, Ioana has transitioned from experimental to theoretical physics, contributing to groundbreaking projects, including the first 3D map of the temperature of interstellar dust in the Milky Way. She is also actively engaged in mentoring students in astrophysics.
