Ion Damaschin

Ion Damaschin is a highly experienced surgeon with over 50 years in general and thoracic surgery, and a doctorate in medical sciences. He has been a prominent figure in the medical community of Chișinău, Moldova, having worked at the Municipal Clinical Hospital "Sfânta Treime" and contributed to surgical teams during the 1992 Transnistrian War. However, late in his career, he was convicted of negligence leading to a patient's death, a decision he contests, claiming the medical expertise used against him was manipulated. Damaschin was sentenced to one year of conditional imprisonment and is currently appealing the ruling, holding onto hope that the Supreme Court will overturn the verdict.
