Ionel Arsene

Ionel Arsene is a former Romanian politician who served as the president of the Neamț County Council. He gained notoriety for his involvement in corruption, leading to a definitive conviction in March 2023 for which he was sentenced to 6 years and 8 months in prison. Recently, he was in the news due to a decision by the Italian Supreme Court not to extradite him to Romania, citing concerns about his mental health and the conditions of Romanian prisons.
