Irena Gut Opdyke

Irena Gut Opdyke was a Polish nursing student who, during the Nazi invasion of Poland, hid twelve Jews in the basement of the home where she was forced to work as a maid for a German general, Eduard Rügemer, showcasing immense bravery and compassion in the face of atrocity.
