Irene Herner Reiss

Irene Herner Reiss is an esteemed academic and specialist in the life and works of the Mexican muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros. As a researcher at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences at UNAM, she has dedicated over three decades to cataloging and analyzing Siqueiros' extensive body of work, particularly focusing on his lesser-known easel paintings, which she refers to as 'mobile murals.' Her recent publication, 'Siqueiros documentado. Testimonios de un proceso creativo,' co-authored with Mónica Ruiz Castro, sheds light on nearly a thousand pieces of Siqueiros' art, offering new insights into the creative processes and historical context of the artist's work.
