Irina Vázquez

Irina Vázquez is a professor at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences at UNAM and a former director of the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) Mexico chapter. She has extensively researched community media and their role in society, highlighting the need for these outlets to address local communication needs that are often overlooked by commercial media. Vázquez has been an advocate for the recognition and support of community radios, especially in light of regulatory changes and challenges in accessing government funding.
