Ordóñez's legacy includes not only her contributions to education but also her resilience, as she faced political turmoil during her life, including an incident in 1920 when her home was invaded by soldiers. She received various honors for her work and is remembered as a significant figure in the history of education in Guatemala, with a school named in her honor.
