Ishibashi Tanzan (1894-1973) was a Japanese politician and journalist who served as Prime Minister from 1956 to 1957. He was notable for his calls to close Yasukuni Shrine, arguing that enshrining war criminals would serve as a justification for past atrocities and could undermine efforts for reconciliation with neighboring countries.
