Israel Salanter

Israel Salanter (1810-1883) was a prominent Jewish leader and the founder of the Musar movement, which emphasized ethical and moral conduct in Jewish life. He is known for his teachings that encouraged self-improvement and spiritual growth among Jews, and his legacy continues to influence Jewish thought and practice. His burial site in the Jewish cemetery of Kaliningrad recently received attention due to restoration efforts marking the cemetery's 150th anniversary.
