Ivan Bounine
Ivan Bounine was a Russian novelist and poet, born in 1870 into a noble family. He fled Russia following the revolution and settled in Paris before moving to Grasse in 1923. Bounine won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1933 for his poignant works, including 'The Life of Arseniev,' which draws inspiration from the picturesque landscapes of the French Riviera. His villa, Mont-Fleuri, later known as La Rivolte, became a creative sanctuary where he penned much of his celebrated literature.
