Ivan Chornyi

Ivan Chornyi, a 26-year-old Ukrainian soldier known by the callsign 'Berlin', is a decorated hero of Ukraine, having been awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine for his bravery in combat during the ongoing war. He joined the military in March 2022 after returning to Ukraine from Poland, where he had planned to propose to his girlfriend in Paris. Instead, he dedicated himself to the defense of his country. Chornyi has served in various roles on the front lines, including as an air reconnaissance operator, sapper, and stormtrooper. Notably, in October 2023, he reportedly eliminated nine enemy soldiers and captured five during a fierce firefight in Avdiivka, leading to his recognition as a national hero.
