Iván Isasi

Iván Isasi is a member of the student center at the Faculty of Social Sciences (FACSO) of the National University of Asunción (UNA). He has been vocal in organizing protests against José Duarte Penayo, the president of the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation of Higher Education (Aneaes), due to Duarte Penayo's controversial statements minimizing the dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner. Isasi argues that public pressure is necessary to hold Duarte accountable for legitimizing a regime that suppressed dissent and was established through a coup.
