Ivan Mistrík

Ivan Mistrík was a prominent Slovak actor, best known for his unforgettable role as Ivan Mistrík in the classic film 'Vyšší princíp' (Higher Principle) from 1960, which is often regarded as one of the greatest Czechoslovak films. Mistrík's performance as a student during a pivotal moment in history showcased his exceptional talent and solidified his place in Slovak cinema. He significantly contributed to the national film culture with other notable works, leaving a lasting legacy in the industry. In 2023, he was honored posthumously at the Art Film Košice festival with the Milan Kňažko Award in memory of his contributions to film, coinciding with what would have been his 90th birthday.
