Jacques Barthelemy

Jacques Barthelemy is a notable assistant and collaborator of renowned Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado, known for his work in documentary photography focusing on social issues and the environment. In July 2013, he accompanied Salgado and journalist Míriam Leitão on an expedition to the Awá Indigenous Territory in Maranhão, Brazil, where they documented the struggles of the Awá people against encroachment from loggers, highlighting their traditional way of life.
