Jadvygos Bieliauskienės

Jadvygos Bieliauskienės is recognized as a significant figure in Lithuania’s resistance against the Soviet occupation. She began her activism in 1947 by joining an illegal youth organization and later became involved with partisans, distributing their literature. After being imprisoned multiple times for her efforts, she helped establish support groups for political prisoners and exiles in the 1980s, and received several honors for her contributions to Lithuania's independence.
