Jae Young Choi

Jae Young Choi is a South Korean individual who gained notoriety for attempting to smuggle cocaine into Australia. In March 2023, upon arrival at Kingsford Smith Airport from Brazil, authorities discovered six bricks of cocaine hidden in his luggage. Choi claimed he was unaware of the drugs' presence and had been promised $1,000 to transport the bags. This incident was not Choi's first brush with the law, as he had previously served a prison sentence in Brazil for drug trafficking. Ultimately, he was sentenced to a minimum of two years and nine months in prison.
