Jaime Abello is a Colombian journalist and the director of the Fundación Gabo, an institution dedicated to the legacy of Nobel Prize-winning author Gabriel García Márquez. Abello's relationship with García Márquez began in 1983 when they met in Barranquilla, and over the years, he became a close friend and mentee.
