Jakoyo Midiwo

Jakoyo Midiwo was a prominent Kenyan politician who served as the Member of Parliament for Gem for four consecutive terms. He was known for his close affiliation with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and was a cousin of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. Midiwo was a significant figure in local politics, advocating for various initiatives, including the Building Bridges Initiative, before his untimely death on June 14, 2021, due to health complications. He left behind a substantial estate, estimated at Sh50 million, which has since become the center of a contentious family court battle.
